New publication: Are we missing something about envy?
The paper rethinks one of the key psychoanalytic concepts, 'envy'. Inspired by a radically different social use of envy in another culture, it revisits psychoanalytic views on envy with the aim to consider their cultural framework and widen the understanding of envy’s functions. Talk on 'Autonomy, human rights, and coercion in psychiatry' (Bremen, April 2026) -- and radio broadcast (both in German)
As part of a workshop on human rights and psychiatry, organised by AK Neue Psychiatrie im Bremer Westen (https://neuepsychiatrie-bremenwest.de/) und der Blaue Karawane e.V. (https://blauekarawane.de/), CICSI's Fabian Freyenhagen presented a talk on 'Autonomy, human rights, and coercion in psychiatry'. The talk was subsequently broadcasted at a small independent radio station and is available here, starting about 17 minutes into the broadcast. NB: both the talk and the broadcast are in German.

New Publication: 'Dying myths of neoliberalism: Reflections on socialisation in the age of precarity"
This paper critically examines theories of neoliberal socialisation.
