10-12 July 2024, Wivenhoe House Hotel, Colchester
Registration is now open for the 2nd CICSI Summer School
which will explore the question:
What is the role of the social context in distress and how to address it?
Organised by the Centre for Investigating Contemporary Social Ills (CICSI)
together with the School of Philosophical, Historical and Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Essex (PHAIS) present, it will be taught by leading experts and practitioners from four countries, including Professor Richard Wilkinson, co-author of The Spirit Level.
I am deeply interested in the organisational process of the summer school ...
I am a clinician with experience in deprivation medicine in England and Scotland. I absolutely love the focus of the conference. However, I also have 20 years of organisational development work across health and social care.
The game of splitting is writ large (in organisational speak - divide and rule), including with regulators and policy makers. Without attention to the group process in the summer school. I wonder how much we will address the systemic issues we are wrestling with. The conference is called social context of distress after all.
I welcome your thoughts ideas and insights
kind regards
Alasdair
